New York attorney general Eliot Spitzer’s mutual funds probe is gathering momentum, with the conviction of James P Connelly Jr, formerly with funds house Fred Alger. Mr Connelly tried to conceal trading arrangements with Texas hedge group Veras Investment Partners.
