Brainpower service for Bankhaus Reuschel
German private banking boutique Bankhaus Reuschel & Co has struck a deal with Brainpower, London-based supplier of investment analysis and decision support solutions for investment professionals and online financial service providers. The Dresdner bank subsidiary will use Brainpower’s analytical tools for the next three years. Ingo Dietrich, head of asset management at Bankhaus Reuschel, said he hoped the arrangement would expand the bank’s investment capabilities, “enabling us to provide better investment services to our high net worth clients.” Brainpower has also scooped a contract from TD Waterhouse, which claims to be the UK’s largest retail broker, to provide its stock selection and analysis tool, AdvisorXceed. Brainpower’s technology, originally developed for professional investors, allows users to analyse investment portfolios, generate investment ideas and choose stocks that best suit their particular risk profile.

Keith Oates, a former governor of the BBC, has been recruited as director of the new branch. Coutts’ chief executive, Gordon Pell, said the appointment was “a testament to the fact that Coutts is committed to strengthening its private banking teams in key international markets” for the benefit of clients outside the bank’s UK base. Mr Oates was formerly a director of Marks & Spencer, the department store currently recovering from financial difficulties. He founded Marks & Spencer’s financial services business.
