“During the third quarter of 2010 international stock markets underwent a volatile sideways movement. The global economy was fuelled by dynamic growth in the emerging markets. Several export-oriented countries such as Germany could benefit from this development in spite of the strength of the Euro against the dollar. The weakness of the US dollar is also the main reason why the price for gold reached levels of close to $1,300 at the end of the month. Our portfolio, which is allocated according to C-Quadrat Best Fonds Strategy, reacted to this market environment by increasing the exposure to Asia and gold.”
